SNOW DAY IN THE GA and "Where Do I Find Those Stools"?

Okay, I am BEYOND excited because I had a snow day today and just received a text message from Remind101 that my school is having ANOTHER SNOW DAY ON THURSDAY!  YAHOOOO!!!

Okay, Time to focus on what this post is really about, and that is the most fabulous stools for your classroom that you could ever want!!!  Hey Amazon, I need to be reimbursed for doing shout outs for you!!!

I have been asked so many times; "Where did you get those adorable stools for your kids/classroom?"

Well, this is where and I am posting the links so that you can go and purchase them too!  Please let me know if you have them already and what you think about them.  I use them every single day and they are wonderful.  They slide right up under my reading tables and don't stick out like regular chairs do and take up space.  They stack so easy and they weigh hardly nothing.  The great thing about them is they advertise that they will hold up to 300 pounds.

Okay, here the stools are in black and they come in a set of five:

Here they are in turquoise which is what goes with Dots of Turquoise from Creative Teaching Press.

Here is the set in multi-color which I LOVE!  I have these in my room and I love them and so do my kiddos.

Hip, Hip, Hooray for 100 Day!!!

One Hundred Day!

How do you start your 100th Day?  What are some activities that you do with you class on this special day?

We start by reading some of the special books I have in the classroom.  Of course there is always the Kindergarten favorite:

I once taught Kindergarten for what seems like 100 years ago and this was a favorite!  There are so many 100th Day books out there now and I am glad that there are.  Here are some more favorites that I use in my classroom:

Here is a great video from YouTube to get the day started OR to get them out of that "after lunch" food coma.

OHHHHH!!!  Do you know about this really FUN app out there that takes pictures and makes them look (trying to be delicate) like they are 100 years old?  As I get closer and closer to those years I try to speak more and more delicately about the subject.  LOL!

Oldster App in iTunes

Here are some shots of the app if you are interested!

The pictures of the app absolutely do not do it justice.  The pictures turn out making you look much older then the ones above do.  I took a picture of my son and all I have to say is it did a (cough, cough) good job of making him look like he was 100 years old.  Notice I didn't take my picture and do it to myself?  That would have been a classic "I broke the camera" moment for sure!  When you take the picture it can be immediately sent to twitter, Facebook, emailed, or downloaded.  All I know is if you try it with yourself you can delete it immediately!  Ummm, no I do not speak from personal experience!  If you try the app please let me know how you liked it and tell me what your kids thought of it.

Okay, moving right along…

FIRST POST OF 2014 and Happy New Year to All!

I am joining up with Farley's Blog for the First "Currently" for 2014

Hope everyone had a great start to this new year of 2014!

It is kind of quiet around here and I like it when it is quiet and peaceful!  After raising four kids and having them all here for Christmas it is good to embrace the quiet!  I enjoy my winter breaks so much but they do have to come to an end next week and I am in such denial.

How many of you still have your Christmas Tree up or have you taken it down already?  Mine is down and it always looks empty where it once stood.  It's not like it is there all year I promise, but it does seem to take over a certain spot in the house doesn't it?

Anyway, I hope all of you have blessings this year that are too many to count.  Start one of those "Blessings" jars and write down all of the GOOD things in your life and put it in the jar all year.  Then pour it out at the end of the year when family is all around and share the JOY!  I am doing that this year with my family and would love to hear from those of you that have already done it.

Blessings For The New Year!
