I Have Found the LIGHT!!! No Really, I Have!!!

Click Above to join the Linky Party

Fabulously First is joining up with Christy and Tammy over at "Fluttering Through First Grade" for their great linky party.  We are starting a new year and hopefully new and positive adventures.  A while back I was in Walmart and found these really tiny lights that fit on your finger.  There were only a few left in the box so I didn't buy them (duh moment).  I have kept an eye out for them since that time because I wanted my firsties to have them to use in reading.  I was reading through Lindsey's Blog last night and saw them.  I shouted "Hallelujah, I have found the lights I have been wanting for so long"!  Thank you Lindsey for your post and leading me to the lights.  I immediately clicked over to Oriental Trading and there they were right there, waiting on me to find them.  I know, I know, how can someone get so excited over a little tiny light?  Well, if you have first graders you will understand and "go to the light" yourself.  You know that first graders love things like this and I know they will be reading like crazy when they are delivered.  I am not going to give them out to each student (oh no, not gonna happen) because they will disappear into the hands of non-guilty children.  I am keeping these puppies all for myself to use in my small group reading.  (Bwahahaha, evil laugh)  Guess who is going to LOVE to come to me and read now?  That's right you guessed it, my first graders.
Here is a picture of these fantastic cuties and now you will know what I am talking about and want them for your classroom as well.

Click to go to Oriental Trading

Okay, now it is your turn to go on over to Fluttering Through First Grade and link up yourself.  Go forth and share these little lights of wonder with others so we can bring joy to all first grade readers!!!

Welcome to Another "Magical Product Swap"

Wonderful Graphic by The 3AM Teacher

Hi Everybody!
Here we all are again for another "Magical Product Swap" and it's all among friends!  Glad you could join us as we give you a sneak peek of some really wonderful products that you can purchase on Teachers Pay Teachers!
What is a "Magical Product Swap" you ask?  It is where teachers team up and swap TpT products with one another and try them out then write a review.
I am fortunate enough to be teamed up with Laura Martin over at Peace, Love and First Grade.

The product I am reviewing today from Laura is her wonderful "Valentine Math Tubs" which you can find in her store by clicking below.

In this unit she has nine of the Common Core State Standards covered and an organized table of contents so that you know what standard is covered in which activity and the pages you need to go to.

Since it is a Valentine's Day packet I was not able to do this with my students yet so I miss out on classroom pictures.  Some of my favorite activities that I can't wait to do with my kiddos are pictured below.  The graphics are so stinkin cute and I love the owls and the adorable little robots.

Each activity has very clear directions in which the students can work independently while we work with our small groups or what I call my instructional groups if you are doing math centers/tubs.  Below is the picture of the very cute robots that I fell in love with.

Please take the time to head on over to Jessica Stanford's blog and take a peek at all of the blogs that are participating in the "Magical Product Swap".  Click below to go to her blog and thank you so much stopping by to view Laura's beautiful "Valentine's Day Math" product!

Currently January!

Yes, 2012 was a tough year for the Thomas family but we made it because that is what family does!

I am listening to a wonderful musical duet called "The Civil Wars" and if you haven't listened to them you need to.

Small things make me say "AHHHHHH" like an electric blanket that gets the sheets all nice and snuggly before getting into bed each night.

Right now I am being quiet and still and listening to the rain outside telling me that it is time to go to bed.

It says OLW but I think that it is a pretty BIG thing to be, thankful!  I am thankful for my family, my grandchildren are the best and my dogs are my wonderful fur babies!

If you want to join this linky please click on the image above to go to Farley's website and hook up with all of us!

Good Night All,
