  10. Deb, I don't teach first, but the Treasure Chest Math Freebie brought back fond memories. I live on the shoreline of CT and when I was teaching fifth grade, I created a pirate unit because we have a group of islands off the coast called The Thimble Islands where it's said that one of the pirates buried treasure there. Ironically the island is called "Money Island". If I was still teaching the pirate unit, my kids would have loved this freebie you created! There are about 100 islands total but they're all privately owned so no treasure hunters can go there. Money Island has been in my friend's family for about 100 years so we can still hunt for treasure! I'm going to pass your TpT freebie to my friends who are teaching first grade!!
